2009 – Guyana Trip – Part 3

This video is part three of my Guyana trip. Guyana is in the north-eastern portion of South America, just east of Venezuela. A day after Farah and I arrived in the capital city of Georgetown, we took a small airplane trip over the tropical rainforest and landed on the edge of the savannah where we stayed several days in an eco friendly resort. In this video, we took a jeep ride into the tropical rain forest to visit the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway. The Canopy Walkway is a series of suspension bridges and decks of up to 30 metres in height and 154 metres in length. The canopy allows visitors to experience the rain forest canopy at eye level. The video also shows a small hike we did into the outer edge of the forest, a short walk from the lodge that we stayed at.

Most of the water is brown since it has a high silt content.

@srinivassiddarth Thank you very much! I used a Song HDR SR12 video camera (~$1,200 US at time of purchase). It has it’s pros and cons, but for the most part, is a great video camera.

@tollington14 That is Guyana . Thank you for putting together this video. I went to Guyana back in 2004. And the country is changing all he time for the better. Is that place called Arrowpoint?

How delightful to hear those songbirds. And Guyana is so much like Brazil where I now live.

Keep in mind, I am using a polarizing lens and applying an “auto levels” filter to each video clip in Adobe Premiere Pro (video editor). The video camera doesn’t create the exact pictures you see in the videos; I have to do some editing to the clips before they’re done.

Thanks for the compilment! I enjoy putting these videos together in my spare time. It will come in handy many years from now when I forget most of what I did on these vacations. The videos take me right back to the scene and will help me remember everything.
